    SYNOPSIS:

When Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) attempts to carve a niche for herself after reluctantly moving to the perpetually overcast town of Forks, Washington, she assumed it would be one similar to the low-profile social position she held back in Phoenix. First on the list of surprises was the unfamiliar attention from the male population of her new high school; second, the attention from one male in particular: Edward Cullen, Vampire (Robert Pattinson). Before long, the unlikely soul mates find themselves in a passionate relationship with a variety of significant setbacks, including Edward’s special-needs diet (he doesn’t eat humans, but Bella’s blood inspires a nearly impossible to harness primal bloodlust) and Bella’s mortality. Nevertheless, those crazy kids decide to give it the old college try despite the odds. Though things proceed relatively smoothly at first (Edward even introduces Bella to his adoptive vampire family), James (am Gigandet), a member of a visiting vampire clan catches Bella’s unique scent and becomes obsessed with tracking her down and draining her dry. Fearing for her safety and the safety of her loved ones, the Cullens must combine their collective talents in order to stop the highly predatory James before his goal is accomplished

    TRIVIA:

Kristen Stewart has naturally green eyes. She wears brown contacts for filming because Bella is supposed to have brown eyes.

Kellan Lutz intended on keeping his natural curly hair for the role of Emmett Cullen. However, his previous role in _”Generation Kill” (2008) (mini)_ required a buzz cut and his hair didn’t grow fast enough for the filming of Twilight.

Henry Cavill was Stephenie Meyer’s first choice to play Edward, but by the time the film came to be, he was 25 years old, and no longer looked the part of a 17-year old. He was then offered the part of Carlisle Cullen but turned it down due to his commitment with ‘The Tudors’

For the role of Edward Cullen, Robert Pattinson flew from England to director Catherine Hardwicke’s house to audition. There, he and Kristen Stewart, who was already cast as Bella Swan, rehearsed the “Love Scene”/”Meadow Scene” on Hardwicke’s own bed.

All of the actors playing the Cullens wear topaz-colored contacts.

Taylor Lautner had to wear a wig for his role as Jacob Black.

Over 5,000 actors auditioned for the role of Edward.

According to a July interview with Network.NationalPost.com and director Catherine Hardwicke, Kristen Stewart was recommended for the role of Bella Swan by Emile Hirsch her co-star from Into the Wild (2007) and whom Hardwicke directed in Lords of Dogtown (2005).

The script was finished in 6 weeks.

Robert Pattinson stated in an interview that this is his first American role and he had no formal training to perfect his American accent.

Nikki Reed (Rosalie Cullen) learned how to play baseball left-handed for the famous baseball scene.

They soon realize the killer has purposely lured them to this house and that they are now trapped. As they huddle around an old fireplace, a tin can falls through the chimney. Scrawled on its side is a message from the killer, establishing his House Rules. The rules call for their deaths unless they kill at least one of the four.

They have less than 12 hours to find a way to survive. At sunrise the game is over and everyone dies if the killer’s demands aren’t met. What they quickly learn is that the only way out… is in. But going further into this house–where unknown challenges await them–is equally deadly.

    SYNOPSIS:

Academy Award nominee Gus Van Sant directs Academy Award winner Sean Penn as gay-rights icon Harvey Milk. Mr. Milk (1930-1978) was an activist and politician and the first openly gay man to be elected to public office in America. In 1977, he was voted to the city supervisors’ board of San Francisco. The following year, both he and the city’s mayor George Moscone were shot to death by another city supervisor, Dan White.

    TRIVIA:

Matt Damon was originally cast as Dan White, but had to back out due to scheduling conflicts with Green Zone (2009).

Thousands of people agreed to take part in the film as extras for free.

The filming location for Milk’s business, Castro Camera, was the real storefront where the actual business had once been. At the time of filming (mid-2008), it was a gift shop called Given; the film crew worked with the owner of the gift shop to recreate the look of Milk’s camera store inside the space.

    SYNOPSIS:

Edward Norton and Colin Farrell star in “Pride and Glory,” an authentic, gritty and emotional portrait of the New York City Police Department. The film follows a multi-generational police family whose moral code is tested when one of two sons on the force investigates an incendiary case involving his older brother and brother-in-law. The case forces the family to choose between their loyalties to one another and their loyalties to the department.

    TRIVIA:

Originally scheduled for release on March 14, 2008, New Line pushed the release back to 2009.

In 2001, Mark Wahlberg and Hugh Jackman were in talks to star. Production was scheduled to begin in February 2002. But after the September 11, 2001 attack on New York City and the celebrated heroics of the city’s police, it was deemed inappropriate to make a film featuring corrupt NYPD officers at the time.

Nick Nolte was originally cast as Francis Tierney, Sr. But an old knee injury flared up and Nolte found himself unable to perform when he came to the set.

Ryan Simpkins and Lake Bell had their hair dyed red for this film.
