    Bio:

Born in Long Island, New York, Christophe Guy Denis Lambert moved to Switzerland at the age of two, because his father got a job as financial expert at the United Nations in Geneva. Christopher attended a private boarding school near Geneva while his parents traveled extensively.

At the age of 12, he appeared in a play which led him to the eventual pursuit of an acting career. To please his parents, Christopher took a job with the London Stock Exchange, but left the position after only six months to help a friend run a shop in Paris. After that, he joined the French military service at his father’s insistence. Ultimately, Christopher’s father agreed to support him financially for two years, so he could follow his dream of becoming an actor. Christopher joined the Paris Conservatoire where he studied for 2 years.

After finishing his studies at the Paris Conservatoire, Christopher soon garnered roles in European films such as La Dame de Coeur and Legitime Violence.

Then he auditioned for the leading role as John Clayton in Hugh Hudson’s 1984 film, Greystoke, The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes. During his initial reading for Hudson, Christopher had to do an hour of gymnastics to prove he was right for the role.

Christopher’s talent did not go unnoticed. He was soon cast in the starring role in Luc Besson’s 1985 film entitled Subway. He received a Cesar Award for best actor for his performance in Subway.

In October, 1988, he married Diane Lane. In early 1994, they became parents of their daughter, Eleanor Jasmine Lambert. Shortly after that happy event, they got divorced.

Christopher focused his attention on his career until he met Jaimyse Haft in 1997. They have been married since 1999.
